Hi, I've just came across this thread and I've got to say that I'm inspired.

I'm on maternity leave just now so hoping to make some homemade gifts this year (although with a baby, a kitten and a college course I'm not too sure how I'll do)

I loved the little knitted bunnies on the first few pages - might make one as a keyring type thing for my mum.

Was looking at making special hampers for my mum and dad (they helped me out so much with preparing for my son and when my boyfriend and I moved house)

For my mum (43) I was thinking:

A scrapbook with lots of pictures of the baby (with blank pages so she can add to it)
Going to knit a nice chunky scarf I think
No idea what else .... ??
Oh and her birthdays on December 29th too (argh)

    For my dad (50)

I have absolutley no idea!! He is one of those people who you cannot buy for!!!

    I hope someone can help.

Oh and for the scrap book I was hoping to do a baby blue cover and add a cross stitched Thumper onto it. Anyone know where I can get a cross stitch pattern for this?

A few pages back there was some instructions on how to melt a record into a bowl. How about doing that with a favourite singer of your dads. He could use it to hold his keys or loose change in?

    eta: Here is the post.

I have a bind it all, a gadget that puts wires in punches out holes and binds the wires together.
