I agree thats a lovely bouquet, I love the curly ribbons. Did you cover it with cello or just give it as it is? I wouldnt mind making some of these for my kids.
  • Hi I am worried about xmas this year and has anyone got any ideas about xmas pressies for men? I have been told I seriously have to curb my spending. I am quite creative but always find the males a problem

I think a lot of people will be curbing their spending this year so don't feel too bad about it. Most men appreciate food and you should find lots of ideas this thread. Someone recently posted a photo of a lovely bouquet of a sweets in a mug, that would be a nice gift for a man.

I did something similar last year. I bought cheap packs of pint glasses from Tesco and circles of the grey oasis (the type for dried flowers) to fit the top of the glass from a pound shop. I also bought minstrels, malteasers and similar from 99p shop. For my husband who loves minstrels I filled most of the glass with minstrels, then put a layer of white choc sweets (I think they were called Moments) put a layer of cling film draped over the top of the glass, wedged the oasis in on top then trimmed off the excess cling film. I then wired curly ribbon and individual foil wrapped sweets, I used some white crumpled tissue paper to loosely cover the oasis then pushed the wires in through the tissue. In the end it looked like a pint with a head on it with sparkly bits on top. I can't find a picture but it looked quite good. I varied the sweets according to the tastes of the recipient.

You could also think of something simple like a photo box, it looks good, it is easy and inexpensive to make and can be decorated to suit anyone anyone from baby to grandparent.

What things can one make for males aged 4, 9 and 30? Not so much 4, but my 9 and 30 yr olds are REALLY into their gadgets and technology and if I gave them something knitted or baked, they'd probably look at me weird.
