What is the SE K750i like with Bluetooth hands free? I have a SE K 700i and I find that the connection is often lost when using the headset. I am considering upgrading to this handset but want one that is reliable with Bluetooth. Any help gratefully received please

I got my wife one of the first K750i and it kept dropping and re-pairing with the bluetooth headset but then following advice on the unofficial sony erricson website (esato.com) I found out that you could update the phones software directly from the sony-ericson site and this cured all the problems.
I think it is somethign to do with different versions of bluetooth, my se p800 has the same promlems with all the latest bluethooth headsets but works fine with an old one I have.
So to answer your question, it should be fine with bluetooth.

At some point Sony changed there software so that it could be updated on the internet using the standard cable, but I'm not sure if the k700i came out before or after that point. If it was before then you can only have this done at a service centre. If you have had the phone less than 12 months it should be for free - try asking in your local carphone warehouse. However first check on the SE website or on ESATO to see if you can do the 700i auotmatically - there should also be info on how to find out what firmware you currently have and what versions are available.

    Hi
Another silly question. Do I need a data cable for update though?

Not too worried about k700i as getting new handset but just worried that k750i bluetooth would be as unreliable as k700i. If its better then thats ok

Yes you need a cable but it came with my 750i - however odds are that the 750i you get now will have the most recent working firmware anyway. Not sure if the cable that comes with the 750i will work with the 700i tho...

What bluetooth headsets are you using with the phone?

there are 2 versions of bluetooth.... When I have been in touch with SE in the past they have confirmed its the headset at fault rather than the phone and this was 2 SE products too phone/headset

The headset is a motorola one. I will probably buy new headset when get new phone. My original query was is the se k750i ok with bluetooth cos use phone a lot when driving due to my job so need that to be reliable which it isn't on my k 700i.
