thank you its ok i used my money to treat my DD seeing her face getting the one thing shes been asking for for 6 months is worth so much more ... and the photo i took just as she opened it is priceless...
we try so hard to be dfw so although we do have the debts and yes we should pay them that money is a gift so i say a little treat wont hurt... even if it is just a box of tea bags (good ones) and a packet of biccys

Couldn't you split it 50/50? Half to the debt and half in the savings pot. then get saving up all your spare bits of change etc etc to bring it back up to the right amount to get the SLR camera? If you saved lots of change, I bet you would have the money back before the summer and could get the camera and then keep parents happy too by producing the said camera?BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0

From an accounting point of view, paying off the debt is like saving with an interest rate equal to the interest rate of the debt... (and tax free too)"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Then save it - your debt will come down by the interest rate you get from your savings. Total debt is always a nett amount..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
