Does everyone has actual Zavvi vouchers, or like me have Virgin vouchers which can (could!) be used in Zavvi? I figure i won't be able to go to the administrator now either. Substitute it for cash tomorrow and spend £30 in Virgin wines it is then. Should help me forget!0

Never shopped in zavvi, as its to expensive, even when they do have a sale on. I think it was a good time for richard branson to sell up and run. I too go online to get what i need as its far cheaper and more convenient than on the high street.
Its a bad state for these high street shops, but internet sites don't have high overheads like the leasing of shops, and employing a high volume of staff. I still buy cd's, dvd's, but as time goes on i think downloads will be the way forward, saved on to a multimedia hub.0 -
I must admit all i ever bought in Zavvi was older DVD's for £4 and such like. I dont think i'd ever buy a chart DVD or CD there.0

It was a ridiculous move for them to drop the Virgin label, they could have negotiated with Branson to keep the name like Virgin records did. Zavvi sound like the sort of name that was made by a bunch of sharp-suited twentysomething advertisisn exec spivs in a boardroom. They lost all brand recognition.poppy100

Update on Zavvi vouchers courtesy of my DH who asked:
You can get a full refund on vouchers purchased in the run up to Christmas (since 27th November) by writing to the administrators. Anyone else with vouchers prior to this will be treated as an unsecured creditor (in other words, don't hold your breath).

to be honest, i feel that if they won't honor the vouchers they are effectively defrauding all the people who have purchased them, and i'm one of those such mugs. They must have known when they sold them that they were in trouble therefore have traded fraudulently. I hope the company directors are sued for what they have done to the general public0

I think that is why they are saying they will refund those vouchers issued after X date (November sometime) but people who hold older vouchers are unsecured creditors....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

id love to know more about who someone who has exchanged cash for a token is an unsecured creditor. its not like we have supplied with electricity or anything.
What will be interesting to see is as they have gone into Administration the majority of their contracts will terminate immeadiatly so things like the tills, the overdraft, the air con maintenance, the computer repairers, the network etc etc may well get shut down and they wont be able to trade at all.Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!
