Placed my order December 26, 2008 at 23:59 but no refund for me!
I received the following email from Amazon:

Dear Customer
Greetings from Amazon.co.uk
I apologise for the delay in responding to your e-mail message. Please be
assured that all of us here are working very hard to provide a thorough,
personal reply to each of our customers as quickly as possible.
Further to your email on January 16, 2009, I am contacting you again to let you
know that, I have got the confirmation from our billing department that the
order was placed at December 26, 2008 at 23:59 (GMT).
The order was charged and completed at December 27, 2008 at 00:56 (GMT). This is
reason the order has not qualified for this promotional offer.
However, Amazon.co.uk is committed to providing the best possible customer
service and we will honour the promotional discount on this occasion.
We would like to give you a 1.48 GBP (50% of purchase amount) promotional gift
certificate, for use towards your next Amazon.co.uk order.
The promotional gift certificate funds have already been added to your
Amazon.co.uk account. However, please note that this will not appear in the
"View gift certificate balance" section of the "Your Account" link.
When you place a qualifying order using your Shopping Basket, you will be able
to see that the value of your gift certificate has been deducted from the total
cost in the order summary.
Please note, this does not apply to orders placed through our third party
sellers.
We encourage you to view the terms and conditions for promotional gift
certificates listed online at the following URL:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200111150
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this regard and thanks again
for shopping at Amazon.co.uk.
Warmest regards
Amazon.co.uk0
