Hi all, hope someone can help me. I was just reading another thread that made me wonder about something that I hadn't thought about till now. I'm on a contract with O2 that runs out in March.I understand that if I don't cancel they will just keep charging me. I am going to call them at the end of Feb and see what they offer me in the way of new phone/minutes/texts and lower monthly payment. I currently pay £20 per month but need to get this lower if at all possible, if they won't lower it for me I am going to cancel contract and go back to PAYG. Can someone tell me in the simplest english possible :D when do I need to ask for PAC code and when should I give it to new provider so that I don't have to pay for a part/whole month that I'm not actually using? (if that makes sense)

TIA for help and advice.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

You need to give a months notice. At that point you can ask for the PAC code. You can then wait awhile until about the 20th day of your notice period before giving the PAC to another operator. That way you'll lose only a few days worth of the final line rental.

Or you could ask your current operator to transfer you to PAYG after the notice period. They will usually do this to retain you. Then, if you later wanted to get another contract phone with another operator you would then simply ask for the PAC code and you would have no worries about losing any of your line rental days because you're no longer paying line rental.
