Does anyone have dizziness following their cold?
I thought I had just shaken off the end of my cold after a fortnight as my nose had dried up and the chesty wheeze had gone but now I seem to have persistent dizzy spells. Its awful because I can't concentrate and I feel permanently drunk and lightheaded (without the nice bits).
My temperature was 100 degrees last night but has come down again, hope I haven't got an ear infection now as well :(

I'd get it checked out - could be an ear problem.

I had 'the' cold - went straight to my chest (very unusual for me, I'm usually the streaming headcold, sore throat type) Started off with an annoying tickle, then it was a persistent chesty cough and a wheeze (again, very unusual - my partner's the one who's asthmatic!) Then I got the streaming nose and bunged up sinuses.

My recommendation - beechams cold capsules. Lemsip just didn't touch it - but I felt miles better after a dose of the capsules. Strepsils also helped a tiny bit with the congestion. Took me 2 weeks to shake it off properly, lucky, as I had surgery under general on the 22nd and I'd have had to cancel if I couldn't get rid!
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

My DD was ill over xmas and kept feeling dizzy. I mainly have a sore throat and annoying cough. Why is it when I take some decent time off work I spend it feeling lifeless !!

    snap - 2 weeks off :(

Know what you mean about self pity - I'm feeling very sorry for myself at the mo.

  • Yep, I have had it as well. Don't really get chesty colds, but certainly have this time. Couldn't really be bothered with Christmas, but had to make the effort, but DH also had it, although not as bad as me. I'm glad, as he is prone to chest infections. Had to give in and go to Dr last week and got antibiotic which has helped, but like others I have been lightheaded and don't like that! Hope everyone gets better soon, especially the pregnant ladies. Best wishes to all of you xxxx

Started Vit D3 a month or so back. Have felt a bit achey today, so have upped dosage. I've read that it helps hugely.

Will let you know in March when colds and flu wain, as to whether I think I have gained from taking them. My skin has not flared up and it usually does in the winter times, still early days.. keeping optimistic!

  • I think some of you probably have the flu rather than the cold - mine was nowhere near as bad as what you're describing (although I reserve the right to feel sorry for myself anyway :))

Hope you're all looking after yourselves!
  • What flu?

    What cold?

Who is suggesting that folk here don't understand that raising your Vitamin D3 status above a certain point that allows CAMP genes to perform their natural function and zap the bugs

I thought even the thickest forum member had grasped the idea of CAMP genes and the need for a certain amount of Vitamin D3 to cross the threshold below which these antimicrobial peptides don't function.
