Sorry I thought this was the castle, now I see different name. The chap on legal aid who built the castle was called Mr Fidler.
Will it be the same thing in 5 years no this time really the castle will be demolished? And another 5 years the same thing again, all the time he is living there and getting legal aid everytime he goes to court.0 -
I just talked to someone who has confirmed the castle is still there.0

But isnt this the exact same thing that has happend several times before?
Years ago it was just the same, ok now it really will be demolished and then the year after no this time really.
Will it be the same thing in another 5 years no this time really?
If its still there in another 5 years then yes he has won.0 -

Just had a catch up on this thread and saw the remarks on France. Well, there is much more space there for a start. Plus although the outline planning is granted by the mayor the plans then have to go to the local council planning for approval. One big problem can be that neighbors never know what is planned until the last, sometimes too late, moment.
We have done lots of renovating and one new build in France.
Back to subject WHEN will this crook have to demolish the house????0 -
Has Mr Fidler got away with it then? What can they throw at him next?0

Apparently the castle case was put on hold following the outcome of the "hay barn" case.
Now the hay barn has been found illegal, and the Goverment are talking about cracking down on this kind of thing in the localism bill.
So...watch this space.0 -
For four years no one complained about the sight of the 40ft hay stack and then comoplain at the sight of their home...people are not making any sense.0

That's because in the countryside hay stacks and large barns are permitted, whereas random new houses, dotted about in fields, generally aren't.
What 'people' say is irrelevant; it's the law.0
