Hi All
Been using MSE for a while and it has saved me £1000's. One of the biggest problems even when you have a budget is cash flow as things arn't always the same month to month. Microsoft Money is a very inexpensive peice of software which allows you to manage your accounts (in some cases download your bank statements and reconcile them), report on spending over different time frames and has a cash flow projection. It is very simple. I have used it for a few years now and definaltey helped me.
Just thought I would give it a mention!:T

There's (at least) one snag with Microsoft Money (2005, so it came out in 2004) - the UK version is never going to be updated.
But if it does what you want, that's fine...!0 -
It still works fine though. Although you have to run it in administrator mode in vista.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I'm a big fan of money as well. I use an excel macro to convert downloaded statements from egg into qif format to import into money.0

GNUCash is free and does exactly the same thing - I have been using it for a while now. It is a very versatile piece of software.0

Sorry to resurrect this thread. I have got Microsoft Money 2005 and it works fine on Vista, but that isn't my issue.
Does anyone know anything about the back ups? As far as I was aware, Money was doing a back up file and putting it in my "documents" folder on close down, overwriting the file everytime. Now I have needed to reinstall Money, due to reinstalling Windows and I have tried File > restore back up and it's telling me that my back up file is read-only, so now I will have to start all over again and enter all the DD's and everything for mine and hubby's accounts.
I like Money and it's easy to use but it's a pain when you need to reinstall the software. Does anyone know how I can restore my back up or tell me an alternative to use that is similar and where I won't lose the info everytime I reinstall?

I'll move this thread to the 'Techie Stuff' board, where the experts will see it.;)
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies.
