I saw that but noticed it says 15000:1 contrast ratio but it should be 30000:1 shouldn't it?

Yep - Sony website says 30000:1

Probably a website typo - I guess worth checking first if anyone is thinking of getting one from here

This is slightly off topic, but is there any danger that when we've bought up the last of the V4000 models, the V4500 will hit the street at a similar price? I think, from reading older posts, that Amazon was selling the V4000 in November for £329, so it was always pretty cheap, before the boxing day / sale frenzy.

I've almost bought the V4000 a couple of times this week, but bottled it for various reasons. This is just my latest :o

Already available, but is more expensive:

    33000:1 ratio

It seems to be around high £500's at present

I ordered mine through play.com on Sunday. It was dispached on Monday and arrived today! Really easy to setup and looks great using the PS3.

I used the RAC 5% voucher (anyone can use it) from here... http://www.racmemberoffers.co.uk/index.php?id=32

I couldn't resist the above trick, and have ordered at the same price!

Though it showed as out-of-stock, and i'm not sure many shops are expecting more stock in soon. I'l report back with how i get on

    cheers

from what ive gathered mate, the v4500 is exclusive to a handful of stores. Unlikely you'll see it in places like currys and comet. The v4000 came down in price in november at amazon because of the comet price drop. This then a domino effect with JL & RS also reducing their prices for a very short period of time.

It has got to be in stock and available and the same item, within 8 miles of the chosen JL store. They normally just phone the shop and check it out.

I rang PC World and they told me that none of their stores stock LCD Tvs as they sell them purely through online sales only. Is this definitely right?! If so, it scuppers any chance of a price match.

Currys are doing a pricematch and then 10% of the difference deducted as well. Maybe worth a try?
Numerous people have already pointed out that the Curry's offer is just waffle, and they never actually will match prices, there is always some excuse.
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Currys have it at the same price. Is there a Currys near the store??

Thats absolute rubbish, my local pc world has a large section in the store with tv's in, had between 20-30 on display.
