I've seen it in the high street but never went in. It had all the street cred of Burtons.:naughty:

Burtons apparently has better fashion items.

Officers Club is hilarious. Full of 100% own brand stuff with ridiculous 'savings'.

'£5 jeans' reduced from £75 to £5.....well fancy that.

Everything is on sale all the time. Never been in. All looks like sh*t from outside!

    TO CORRECT THIS THREAD:

Officers Club HAS NOT gone into Administration. It is still trading but is For Sale.

They have reduced it from £250 to £1.99 apparently

Went back to Normandy by spital last year and did not reconize the place, what was a small village (34 years ago) is now quite large and full of new builds.
It destroyed my happy memories and somehow wish that i had not revisited.

If that's true that means things written on the Internet are true.... which means house prices only ever go up might be true too!

    Hi Pn,

I live in a lovely historic market town at the foot of the Lincolnshire wolds and personnally it is being destroyed by new builds, and chavs begging for cider outside the local spa. Not to mention the boy racers in their 1.1 nova who manage to do about 8-9 laps of the town by the time you have walked from one end to the other.

Having said that, there is not much for them to do around here and wages are poor if you are working in the town. Me and my friends all escaped to uni. I ended up back here with a local job, but I am lucky because there is plenty of industry close by for me to work in on the humber bank where I earn a lot more than the local average wage.

That reminds me, does the Price Drop Tv/Bid Up TV shop still exist ? :D

I forget where it was but the prices on the tickets dropped each day.
  • I wont miss either Officers club or Whittards, there are stores near me for both, and a Woolies, the high street is going to start looking very sorry for itself next year, luckily i dont spend much time there.

In fairness though, Officers Club isnt too bad a cheap pair of jeans. I can understand Whittards having problems since i cant figure their target market.

Good chain, a jumble sale at best... :rotfl:
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
