I am on OVP Virgin with Line 2 chat 60. I called and mentioned that I had heared that 0800 calls were now chargable, and that I understood that a package could be added to the account to make these free for the year. I requested that this be added to my line 2. I told them that without the free 0800, line 2 was not worth it to me, so I would need to cancel it. This was true. I had been thinking of getting rid of it for a while. As my total monthly spend tended to be in the order of £6 including line rental, I did not expect too much.
After firsrt denying knowledge of such a package, the CSR spoke to a supervisor and said that the supervisor would review my account and I would get a call back.
About an hour and a half later, I got the call back and was told that because I had been with Orange for 10 years, they would let me have what they called (if I remeber correctly) the "Free calling card package".

Well done.
Don't ever give your Virgin OVP up. They don't do that one anymore at Orange and it's a super plan if you have to make a lot of calls on any one day.0 -
i've had alot of experience with this lately
orange.........no problem
three.........no problem
vodafone........no problem
02.........no problem
vodafone via carphone warehouse (also includes onestopphoneshop etc)......max 2 phones......and £200 deposit per phone
02 via carphone warehouse (also includes onestopphoneshop etc)......max 2 phones......and £200 deposit per phone
orange via carphone warehouse (also includes onestopphoneshop etc)...no problem
three via carphone warehouse (also includes onestopphoneshop etc)...no problem
carphonewarehouse at first blamed voda/o2.....only changed mind when i contacted voda and 02 direct and had no problem at all
carphonewarehouse........still unable to explain why?
been advised that each phone requires £50 credit check....so as long as your good for £50 then you should have no problem (most people are good for a few thousand)0 -

This might be me being a bit dim but could you explain what that means!0 -
After speaking to somebody in the industry I was told it goes like this for credit checks:
Strictest - Vodafone
Medium - T-Mobile & 3
Least - o2 and Orange
Hmmm. It seems Vodafone is the strictest but then there's a million different stories for the rest!0 -

if you do a credit check on yourself (via checkmyfile etc etc martins got a blurb opn how to get this for free)....they give you a figure that your good for say £5000 credit.....if you have a credit card with £3000 credit on then your ok for another £2000 ....does this make sense (if i'm wrong someone pls advise)0 -
