Ordered a phone from carphone warehouse over the phone yesterday to be delivered today, turnt up so all was good until i opened the parcel and the box had the seal broken on it none of the phone or accesorries was wrapped properly and the box had been dented in like it had been dropped and to top it off the sim had been thrown in the bottom of the delivery bag
I phoned customer service to be told take it to nearest carphone warehouse and show them, the whole idea of me oredering over the phone was to save me dragging a newborn baby and 5 year old out to a busy shop but oh well off i went, got to the shop they didnt have the phone i wanted in stock
The manager phoned customer service and he explained what i had been told to do and the state of the phone, they told him they would refund me with a cheque taking upto 14days which is no good to me as i needed to buy a replacement phone for present i paid by debit card so couldnt understand why i couldnt be refunded on the card well an hour later a screaming baby and stressed 5 year i got my refund on the card minus the £10 credit you pay for on the offer with the phone to which they was not going to refund me until more telephone calls and me trying to explain it was usless without the mobile phone so that is now being sent in a cheque to me which will take 10 days so one time of using carphone warehouse will most defiantly be my last

Unfortunately the carphonewarehouse's customer service went down hill about 3 years ago. Myself, family and a few friends have had problems with them so we avoid them.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
In my experience with this outfit, it seems to be a case of "the answer's 'no', now what's the question?"
Never, never again.0 -
i just bought a new phone from them, they opened the box in store (to try and sell me covers), however they didnt open the phone or put the sim in, as i was in a rush
got it home, together with my new orange sim card (an upgrade to old contract) and inside was a vodafone sim! I was a bit miffed, suggests it has been out and back already do you think, and not brand new? I havent had chance to take it back, and wont have time for 2 weeks at the least. Any suggestions or should I just build a bridge and get over it?0 -

I think it is quite difficult in this situation. Mainly because Carphone Warehouse sells phones on different network providers, and some of which are unlocked so will work with any network. When someone returns a phone with a seal broken, they will simply try to get rid of it as soon as possible.
I know this is not going to be the most useful information, but next time you might want to insist they DO NOT break the seal and check that the seal is the original seal and not a second seal put over the fist one which is already broken.
The last time I had my contract upgrade with O2, I asked them to show me the phone and strangely enough they actually said they are not going to break the seal, it was up to me to do it.0
