HMV - What a rip off!

I went in HMV today to buy my mum some earphones, I found the same ones that both me and my OH have bought in the last couple of months and we both paid £9.99 for them. They are now charging £29.99 :eek: They weren't on sale when we got them or anything.

They will have hiked the price up so when they're "half price" in the sale, people will think they're getting a good bargain :rolleyes:

Its a disgrace that they can do this. I just tried to find them online but they're not on there. Needless to say I didn't buy them.

That really is bad! I've stopped sale shopping now; I'm sure the majority of 'bargains' are nowhere near as good as they seem at the time xXx

When will people realise.....THIS IS NOT A RIP-OFF.
They can charge £5000 for the earphones, but you will not buy them so you have not been ripped off.
I am looking to buy a telescope and the price difference I have seen is as much as £100, now the shop charging £100 more is not ripping me off, they are just not getting my business.

Yeah and HMV didn't get my business either but they are ripping people off. It's no wonder businesses are closing down when they are just being greedy.

Chuckley, yes I did buy both pairs from HMV a little while ago.

I don't get how they've ripped you off? You haven't lost any money as you aren't forced to buy the headphones from them. Just get them somewhere else!

I'm not saying they are ripping ME off but they'll probably rip some other poor soul off who doesn't realise they were once only a tenner!

How do you know that the wholesale price that HMV pay didn't triple?

Wheres the rip off OP, its not a vent and its not a rip off, its just how it is, how do you know that the operating costs of the company who make the headphones hadn't increased, the materials used to make the headphones could have gone up in price
