Well... Our windows are Anglian, but I knew the salesmans (Now area sales manager) sister in law and he gave us a friends and family quote without all the bullsh*t (allthough he found it hard not to give me all the talk). (About 3.5K for a 3 bed house.) We've had the windows 3 or 4 years now, and any problems have been sorted out very quickly with no quibbles!

However my initial experience with Window and other Salesmen, Bowater, Kitchens Direct have lead me to swear I will never ever have a Sales person in my house again! They waste so much time and do my head in!

Think alot depends on the salesperson and fitters I've got Anglian windows and doors and was impressed with the whole exprience, not pushy sales (unlike another company who I had to physically force out of my house!) and good fitters. The one problem I did have I called in the morning and someone was around in the afternoon to fix it.

Thanks, but does the quote not just sound way to cheap?, i sent letters to the legal dept & the branch handling my ex-order, the law is you have 7 days cooling off, so should be ok :)

You did send them recorded delivery? And got a record from PO of safe delivery?

I could be wrong, but I think the 7 days only applies if it was them who initiated first contact, this could be a leaflet through the door. If you looked in yellow pages and phoned them to arrange a meeting, the seven days may not apply. Check this with trading standards.

I dunno how your quote sounds but you might want to get more quotes from different companies, (don't agree to any of them on the day) also ask normal builder to do a quote for you. I suggest you try staybright windows (I think it was them I'll double check and confirm this weekend).
