Anglian Double Glazing - Any Experiences?

I am just about to buy the council flat I have lived in for 6 years. I am going to borrow extra money on the mortgage for double glazing.
I have had two quotes, one from Anglian and one from Everest. Everest are almost double the price of Anglian. I have heard Everest are good, but I am basically buying the flat to sell in 3 years and cannot afford their prices anyway.
Does anyone have any experiences of buying from Anglian? What was their work standard like? I am going for the 60mm DG. Is it worth going for the 70mm? It's a lot more expensive. What is the difference in quality?
Thanks for any help. I know nothing about this at all.

I found this but I don't know how useful it is to you.

Personally I would get a lot more than two quotes. A local firm might be just as good and cheaper but find out from previous customers what their standard of work is and if there have been any problems.
I have no wish to tell you how to spend your money but if you could possibly get a fixed bank loan for the windows it would be a lot cheaper than sticking it on the mortgage. I'm no financial expert though. Good luck.Don't buy the Sun.0 -

*shudder* Oh dear. Stop right now, and get some quotes from LOCAL companies. Otherwise, you will be taken to the cleaners. Search this forum for previous advice on the subject.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -

I know that this response is a little out of date (the thread was started in January!) but thought I'd add incase anyone is interested! I had a salesman from Anglian Windows give me a quote on a garage conversion on Saturday. Despite all their marketing saying that we'd get a 'no obligation' quote the salesman refused to tell us exactly how much it would cost. He said the only way he'd give us a final figure is if we'd sign up then and there to have Anglian Windows undertake the work. Obviously I said that there was no way I'd take my first quote but the salesman got annoyed at this and told me that it would be too difficult for myself and my boyfriend to get other quotes (as we had earlier mentioned that we had unusual working patterns and are based in both London and Birmingham). We were having none of this but I think it's a good example of their sales strategy - I now have a pretty low opinion of them and will be very cautious about using them at all. I'm going to pop this on a thread about garage conversions as well.0

Hi,
It is mega essential that you get reliable company as double glazed windows now come under planning regs..
Lack of appropriate documentation would make selling awkward.
Local firms are good , look for FENSA approved.

I can't believe i was so niave/stupid to sign up for their "show home" discount scheme!!. Their initial price was over £13k for about 14 windows, different sizes, 2 sets of sliding patio door & 2 main doors. After 5.5 hrs the price was wittled down to £4879. I paid a 25% deposit about £1220 on a credit card. The saying 'if its too good to be true than it is' did spring too mind, i really don't know what to do. If i cancel there is a note at the back of the contract saying they are entitled to keep 25% of the contract price, which is the massive amount above. Or should i just stay with them? Any advice/help is much appreciated, thanks in advanceNo one said it was gonna be easy!0

I'm reasonable confident there is a legal cooling off period, but this could be a short as 7 days, but you must check that, don't take my word for it.
A call to the credit card company might be helpful. Otherwise I'd try the Citizens advice.0 -
Anglian and Safestyle = Absolute Rubbish.0

I agree with Alan M. Your local Trading Standards should also be able to advise regarding the cooling off period0
