take care with the wine gums, the port ones are particularly strong and show up on the breathalyzer....work permit granted!0 -
The tax disc (VED) is the only one required. If you are stopped by the police, the rest can be produced at any police station (nominated by you) within 7 days
Close... but no cigar
None of them are required now, as you are exempt from displaying road tax for 5 working days if you purchase it online, so you can legally drive with none of the above in the vehicle
Personally I don't carry anything apart from VED in my car unless I am visiting Europe at which point you must carry your documents.0 -
tax, phone, mp3 player (for when i reach destination- usually work), some cds and my driving license is always in my wallet as it is a slick little photo one (although its due to renew in april  new picture time lolthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

Not true, false information.
Only " document " required in the UK is road fund licence displayed to nearside of windscreen.0 -
if you listen to some of the people on here they would tell you that you do not need road tax or an mot either
a nice policeman will let you off
in 24 years of driving i have never carried any driving related documents just a valid tax disc in the windscreenremember it is nice to be important
but more important to be nice0 -

Please can you supply a website that displays this information? It certainly wasn't sent anywhere with my tax renewal documents - they said to make sure you apply for it at least 5 working days before your tax runs outworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
There is a bit of an unwritten rule on displaying a tax disc when renewed as I have been in the DVLA office when someone was complaining that their disc had not arrived and the DVLA advisd them that they should be OK up to 14 days in to the month!!
You are not legally obliged to buy your new tax disc until the last day for renewal, including on line - so the 'tax in the post' scenario still exists. I would keep the old one in though.
Here is an interesting one for you......
For work I am currently legally driving on the UK public roads, with no tax disc, no MOT and no front numberplate. Lets see if anyone can work out how I am doing it...Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
