    Thankyou both.
Now,bearing in mind Martin's 'no such thing as a stupid ?', I easily[again]prove him wrong.
When you use the word 'channels', are you saying A. can/will receive ALL BBC radio? including DAB7 i.e. you don't just mean tv channels?
What is a radio sender please? Will fm work for what I usually hear as longwave or mw stations[if DAB's not on} i.e. the other R4?
BBC tv is not installed - is this necessary before any of this can work?
    What is Real Audio stream?

    Many thanks once more.

If you use a 2nd hand Sky box in France with 60cm dish you can get all BBC radio e.g. Radio 4, Radio 5, BBC 7 etc. Plus BBC TV. A radio sender (also called an MP3 FM Transmitter) is a gadget that connects to the back of the Sky box and allows you to hear the audio in other rooms, either on an ordinary FM radio or on a special receiver that's a bit like a pair of computer speakers.

buglawton - thankyou especially for this simple spelling out of what's rqd. I'll text the info. today.
Forgive an ancillary? please - is the special receiver sth that can be bought more cheaply here or would it need to be location specific?
    Thankyou again.

David at this co http://perso.montgolfiere.mageos.com did the job for my rels and also supplied refurb Sky boxes etc, he travels to jobs in Southern France e.g. Aude, Ariège, Haute Garonne, H!rault, Pyr!n!es Orientales & Tarn at a reasonable mileage rate (still, the job needs to be big enough to make it worth the trip... he did 1 dish, 2 boxes & 3 cables).
