I babysat for staff at the university. It does take time, but mostly the kids are asleep, so you can either study or just relax.
I got £5 an hour, which suited me, but in london you could probably expect more.
I just sent an email around my department offering my services. I'm a phd student, so it suited me and the staff knew me. they paid fairly well as I was someone trustworthy, and i have a car so i could pick the kids up from school etc..
If you're an undergraduate offer to babysit your tutor's kids maybe? once you've got one client, it's easier to get more.0
