Not a saving question but a make more money one.....

Hey how you doing everyone?
I hope everything is good your way

Im just posting this thread to students out there, or the younger people on this forum on how you make extra money apart from working and selling what you currently have.

I mean, i myself am not the saving type, im more of a make more money type. Dont get me wrong, saving is really good and can help you on a rainy day but why concentrate more on saving than to concentrate on making more.

Anyway, im here basically because i want to ask students here on how you make extra cash which is regular.

I myself now and again buy things in bulk, sell them, make profit and only spend the profit or re invest.

What else do you people suggest, for example, say if i had anywhere from 500-1500, what would you do? (except spend it on things you cant get more money from lol)

Let me know, or we can talk on msn if you prefer......

Also, if you do buying in selling, maybe looking for a partner, let me know some details and id most probably be interested in it.

Thanks again for reading my post. Take care

i work as well as having uni i babysit for two families and charge an hourly rate and then i have a nanny job that i do four nights a montht hen i work on bank agency doing some night shifts. i am a student nurse.
i have also tried to sell things on ebay, sold my car, get free sims and sell them in bulk, shop at netto for household things, buy food off market,
i dotn have any ideas on moneymakign apart from going to get a job!!
  • Hi Stone

Making money is a lot harder than it sounds! I also have gone down the buying in wholesale and reselling on Ebay track. I got some stuff from USA and resold it all last year but the profits were minimal for the amount of time and effort involved (time and effort which i really should be spending on my PhD lol)

Part time job isn't possible for me at the moment. Too many PhD and family commitments. Internet stuff is ideal for me as it can be done any time. I thought about proof-reading or other home work schemes but they all seem to be a bit of a rip off. I refuse to pay someone to give me work lol

Have you had any ideas Stone?

well i do have a part time job, work in a luxurious version of a department store, selfridges by the way and the wages there are quite sweet for a student.

still though, i want to make more money. i just dont see how people go through life expecting to live a good enjoyable financial lifestyle when all they do is wait for a paycheck at the end of the month and buy thing which will make thing financially worse off. people say they need more money, but the truth is, the more money they have, the more expensive things they buy so its like how the heck can you possibly be better off.......... think about it

anyway, yeah, all im doing is just buying wholesale, things like that, selling on then just spending the profit, at least i dont spend any of my hard earned cash and just let that build up for maybe some future investment.

just really want to know what other people do to earn more income considering my circumstances i.e. full time student and part time worker.

come on people, what you got..........?

Im a student as well. Bristol uni. I always buy stuff from asia and resell them on ebay to make profit.... its not a bad idea... and as long as u choose the right things to buy n resell the amount of money you get is worth your time and effort involved!!! easier and better than a p/t job!
  • Asia? Don't you get stung by customs?
I've had problems with foreign bidders on Ebay and stuff. I've been put off sending money to other countries now because there is so little protection if the goods don't turn up. Maybe i'm too untrusting i dont know.

I agree with what you say Stone. Endlessly waiting for the end of the month is frustrating but i've found it hard to successfully make realistic amounts of cash without being employed. It seems to me that the biggest money on ebay is in popular stuff like mobiles, mp3 players etc but i've no idea how to get these kind of things wholesale with enough room to make a profit.

I run a few websites and make money from advertising. It takes a lot of time and effort to set up, but my main site has been around for a few years and now pretty much makes money itself.

I wouldn't recommend this unless you already know something about designing and promoting websites or have a lot of free time, but it can be fun as well.

My main site is https://www.studential.com - feel free to check it out, though I haven't done much on it for a few months.

I also do open days for my university - £25 for an afternoon of walking around and talking to people is easy money :)

    thats cool loftx!

nice one. thing is i dont have a mass amount of free time :( to do that even though i know a tiny bit about designing websites i.e. xhtml, sql, javascript but i hated it when i did it for a module so i wont be doing it again regardless lol.
