RM's may pay lip service to protecting their staff from dogs but i can tell you in practice the managers care very little
often at best they give the postman a letter for the dogs owners ot deliver.the irony is lost on them0 -
Think about this from the dogs point of view...he wants to protect the house. Every day this man comes to the door and tries to gain access - but mum doesnt let him in. The next day he tries again, and the next day, and so on, but mum never lets him in. Hes not trusted inside the house.
Therefore the house must be protected against this man who comes and rattles the door every day. With Sparkles! :happylove And Shiny Things!0 -

would you say the same if it was a paperboy who got mauled?
does looking at it from the dogs point of view make it okay?0 -

I think it varies from one manager to another - my manager always took dog bites very seriously and even if it was only a little nip he would have a word with the owner, see if you wanted any futher action taken etc...from my own experience, i can't complain
Wish it could be like that for everyone though. August grocery challenge: £50

Who cares about the dog's point of view???
Posties, I agree. Just don't deliver anywhere you see a dog in the garden, and if the owner brings them to the door ask them not to next time.

I don't think skipsmum is trying to justify it....just explaining why a dog would act thus. That doesn't mean its ok, but an awareness of how the dog sees the situation might help owners to act in the interests of everyone's safety. and i am not a dog sympathiser as I have been bitten several times.
