Hi
Does anyone know of the best ways to buy a used car? Checked on ebay and was wondering if there any other decent websites that anyone knew of?
Preferably, i am after a Toyota Corolla, 2002 or later with reasobale mileage (about 30000).
Also, is there a way of checking the market value of a car online, i was thinking maybe for a 1.4l is about £6k?
Any advice much appreciated.
Many Thanks

https://www.parkers.co.uk gives you the market value of a car
Try your local newspaper, Auto Exhchange, or there is a website called https://www.fish4cars.co.uk0 -

Hi,
Dealer is always the best way as you will get exactly what you want if you can wait for them to find it (they may have it already.
Get a helpful salesperson and phone around dealers you would be willing to travel to.
You may end up paying slightly more but the benefits are good, at least: 12 month warranty, 12 month full RAC cover, RAC approved check, service and MOT if needed and possibly some good bodywork if dealer has on-site facilities. You will have to pay for tax.
The good salesperson means any problems you have will be sorted out quickly and efficiently.
1.4cc is a good bet but 1.6cc much better if doing lots of motorway. T2 will not have Air Con try for a T3 if you can as much more saleable. Corolla 52 plate 1.6 T3 3dr, 25,000 miles, advertised £6950, Sold same day in South West.
Hope this helps. You Get What You Pay For And You Pay For What You Get :A0 -

Personally I'd buy privately via Autotrader. None of the dealer benefits are benefits to me.Happy chappy0

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thanks folks - the car isnt for me and i haven't a clue so really appreciate your help!
There is one in a dealer relatively close (swinton) and their name is rrg, but i heard that dealers arent so willing to offer discounts? is that a myth?
If the car with them costs £7k and they are offered £6500 in a one off payment i would have though that would have been a go-er but someone told me they are more willing to do deals that involve finance, which i'm not particularly interested in.
Thanks again0
