    I've got a TH37-PX80B, just checked the Panasonic siote again, the 37" is listed as 1024 x 720 and the 42" as 1024 x 768.

I do need to play with mine again, I've had it a couple of months so it's had a reasonable run in period so a play with the settings may be in order next week sometime.

EDIT: Interrestingly just found this on Avforums in an email someone had form Panasonic

"In response, I would explain that all input signals are converted to 1080p for processing because of the same FHD chip set used in all 2008 TV sets (both HD and FHD sets). The 1080p signal is then reduced for 720 or 768 line screens i.e. HD Ready PX80 sets.
The PZ8* models would display the signal at 1080p since this is their native resolution; the use of a universal 1080p chipset helps to maintain an affordable price for our products. The up/ down conversion process (on PX80) does not degrade the image quality."

So if you have a suitable device (Blu-Ray or pS3) it may be better to output at 1080p

    Interesting!
    Cheers for that Bill :)

Right - so the top and bottom of it is - try it with both.

Has anyone got any advice on the set up of the TV to get the best picture.

Read somewhere I need to take care for the first 200 hrs to avoid burn in. Has anyone got any specific advice for the set up of the TV. Bought it on satruday.

Will check out the AV forum

    Best picture ~
generally speaking nearly every tv will look better will all 'digital processing' (read BS) modes turned OFF
My Pioneer has a ton of settings, and ive tried them all over time and come to the conclusion it looks best with everything turned off (or to 'default' if no OFF)

This is how THESE guys set it (but as explained, you really need to use a setup disc to get it right to YOUR components and cables)

Pans are also generally accepted to function best using a mains conditioner

Maybe you need to give each one six months to burn it in? :p

    Sorry, couldn't resist...lol

It seems a reasonable assertion though if there's such a thing as burn in.
