  • ...(snip)I believe by now I have completed the requirements - could you please let me know if I am in the first 4000 qualified members?
(I hope with the power of the technology it is going to be nothing more than a simple query to your database(s) combining the two clauses)
I fully understand that final saying on who's qualified or not is supposed to be produced on the 31st of March, but I'd feel much happier if I can find out beforehand that even now I am among the first 4000 that qualified. (snip)...
The answer , of course was

    Dear Mr Bristolleedsfan

    Thank you for your enquiry.

I can understand if you don't want to leave £1000 in a lower interest paying account. I have good news for you. We haven't yet reached the 4000 eligible applicants. So if you wish to qualify for the £75 i would suggest sending us your transfer form as soon as possible. I've checked our records and we haven't received a transfer request from you.

    Regards,

That's dire considering when you applied. The 'good' news is that I've received a confirmation letter from the 'Transfer Team' dated 20th Jan 2009 that they are proceeding with my request (fingers crossed!)

Thats right, question is are they up to date with all their inward post  , I sent off a second switch authorisation on Saturday, if they havent had that then they will never receive one from me. :rotfl:I have sent another message pointing out that the required "signature" accepting .... was sent back with the original switch authorisation so if they havent had the switch authorisation then they wouldnt have had the required "signature" back either.

My reply indicates that Sofa_Surfer should have been informed that being as the 4000 eligible applicants hasnt/hadnt yet been reached then as long as he/she maintains the eligibility criterea then he/she will qualify for the 75.00 incentive.

    To paraphrase: 'He would've said that, wouldn't he?':D .
I hope their answer gives you the ground to get the 'incentive' if push comes to shove.

I enclosed a letter with the second switch authorisation outlining the saga and mentioning that I have never previously received such an incentive payment from Nationwide in the past, ;) def felt like beg ,beg, beg. :o

I wonder how many eligible applicants they have had to-date.

A letter has come from Nationwide in today's post confirming eligibility to the £75 reward as follows:
We will soon be crediting £75 into your FlexAccount

    Dear Mr Milarky

Between 22 December 2008 and 28 February 2009 we promised that if you transferred your existing current account using our Managed Account Transfer service and took out an additional Nationwide product (or deposited £ 1.000 into a Nationwide savings account), we would credit your account with f 75 in June.

We're delighted to deliver on our promise. You won't need to do anything. You will simply see a credit of £75 in your account this month. The credit will be shown on your statement as 'Transfer from account 1568/SUNDRIES' and as 'Bank Transfer' on mini statements.

Thank you for choosing Nationwide as your current account provider. I hope that you continue to get the most out of your Nationwide FlexAccount.

    Yours sincerely

    Nationwide Building Society.

Good of Nationwide to write out. [I expect the same thing will occur for those lucky enough to have bagged the 'one day only' online £100 switching offer from 22 April]
