Right....so we're in the middle of the possibly biggest financial crisis the country, or even the world has ever seen, you put your hard earned into a foreign bank, which went tits up, the government took measures to get it back for you when the foreign country stated they were looking after their own, and you want to pump paperwork into the system on the off chance somebody will take the time out to sit you down and explain what and why they did what they did. Priceless.
Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

  • The UK Government used clandestine and secret means to freeze £550M of sterling assets in the UK banking system during the recent Icelendic crisis. This lead to instability and lack of confidence in banks lending money.

as already suggested, the only people likely to be in the least concerned by this sort of poll are those who found themselves outside of the 'extended cover' given to UK retail depositors in Icelandic banks.

i'm sorry if you weren't covered as a retail depositor, or suffered losses offshore, but i don't support this poll.

I agree, it seems a case of lashing out (with twisted and unlikely allegations) at whoever one can by people who have suffered. Happens but cannot be condoned.
