in Water bills
Does anyone know if I will charged more due to my property being described as MARKET GARDEN, GREENHOUSES & BUNGALOW?
It used to be the above but now just a residence. I've told the water company such, but they haven't changed the heading on the water bills, and tell me it makes no difference.
Thanks
John

It will not make any difference what the property is called.
The heading on water bills are PAF addresses i.e offitial addresses from the post office database, you can fill in a form at the post office to change the name of the property and it will eventualy cascade to the utility companies.
Is there still a market garden and greenhouse at the property?
Check what you are being billed for surface water drainage because that is based on the surface area of the property in M2 if it is a business account or type of property if it is a domestic property.Helping people lower there water usage and water bills

Many thanks for your response.
The address at the top of the bill is correct (from Thames Water) but in the line below it, titled Property Address:, it shows MARKET GARDEN .... etc.
No market garden or greenhouses at the property since mid 90s, we bought it in 2005.
What is M2?
How do we check surface water drainage charge? As we have a septic tank, I assume it may not apply?
Your help much appreciated!0 -
M2 = square meters
If you have a septic tank this will not necessarily mean you don't need to pay surface water drainage charges.
Check to see if the water from the guttering or your driveway runs to the septic tank.
If it does not you might still be charged for SWD.

Depends , if its on a meter they there is no difference, but if paying water rates you may be paying commercial rates instead of domestic0
