There is a factory shop, but I am not sure if they are actually made there - their head office is Shepton.

...we have some that are over 20 years old and they just get better with time ,(believe it or not i have bought bags and purses for less than £1.00 at charity shops and car boot sales )quote]

Agree. My best find ever, ever, was a Chanel bag in a charity shop for 2.00. Had the logo on the zipper and stamp on the inside. Cost 45.00 to redo stitching and revive the leather. The leather on it is actually much softer and nicer than the new ones. It is DD's pride and joy and she loves it - treats it like a newborn. As it has the huge CC logo on it, it speaks for itself. We affectionately call it "The Two Pounder."

At last someone like me who knows that just because something has been reduced doesn't make it a bargain or any less obscene at that price. Here Here is all I can say! And I don't spend more that a fiver on handbags a year and they come from charity shops.

I do own a Mulberry bag and it DID cost me a fiver out the charity shop...:D
    Val.
  • I have a Mulberry Angelica and it is worth every penny. It's true, the bags don't have a huge tag or brand name to shout what they are - but the worth is in the quality of the leather and construction. Each is individually numbered. Which makes it very sweet indeed if you can get a reduction!

I don't agree that you have to wear the clothes label to use the bags - they go with anything. I use mine with black jeans.

I know it can be argued that to spend a lot of money on a bag is a waste of money - but I think you can be moneysaving and still enjoy luxurious things. If I had the cheapest of everything it would depress me.
  • Thanks to the Op for the tip off! Just to let you guys know the sale bags are now almost all half price! I ordered a Chloe Bag for the other half yesterday @40% off and now it has gone down another £80.00!!

IMMENSE - Thanks OP! Just got myself a Roxanne Tote and debating on getting my sister the bay bag. They may be expensive but they last a lifetime and unlike many other things don't really deppreciate if you get a classic. Some people buy stocks and shares (and not a lot of good has come out of them.) I buy nice bags. I recently sold a 4 year old well used Roxanne on ebay and got £200 more than I paid for it :D

Oh and if you're planning a big bag spree, I was in HN's in Manchester at the weekend and one of the beauty women promised me the best ever sale come January. A uni mate got a Chloe Betty for £90!!! I had to lie down from sheer jealousy when she told me that ;)

Mine (my large daily one) was slit with a knife when out shopping (in Crawley).

    Less than 2 inches, I guess I moved:mad:

I took it to a shoe menders & the guy didn't know what brand it was, but he said to me "its an expensive bag, isn't it?"

No obvious labels or anything, they just scream quality & nothing else.

All mended now (hardly see the slit):D
