Hi on my d500 i put a privacy code on my images/videos etc but i cant remember what code i put on them. Does anyone know how i can get around this??

Please help me...

    not sure you can beat the security code but maybe you could upload the pics to a pc then get the phone flashed to return to factory state

    also maybe you could restore factory settings using password 00000000 and then it may go back to default - at your risk though as i dont know if it will affect the pics on it

    I have not done this before and it may be totally obvious to you??

    That is the full eeprom unlock code, its not advisable to unlock the phones this way it can cause the phone to set on fire.

    No offence intended, but I assume this is some sort of urban myth??

    Resetting the EEPROM on your mobile phone, WILL not set fire to you phone, same as Resetting the EEPROM on your fire or burglar alarm system will not set fire to your house.

    EEPROM chips contain a form of flash memory or volatile data (VRAM as opposed to Non-volatile NVRAM) That is all.

    I think someone may have misinterpreted the way EEPROMs are erased and rewritten. It it done electrically, as opposed the UV used in EPROMS, but not by passing a current straight through it, rather by field emission (Fowler-Nordheim tunnelling).

    With regard to the battery calibration data, EEPROM reset is the way to restore it if it becomes corrupt.

    Of course, if you battery is 'blown' and you try to charge it, THEN you risk setting fire to you phone (most unpleasant)
