I really enjoy watching these sort of things...but don't you think we're getting a little bit overwhelmed by the volume of programmes/articles, etc and losing the message? Will people switch off because there are too many?Leilasmum0

The thing to remember is you've seen many of them. Still the vast majority of the UK has never heard of me, never seen me on the TV (that they remember), heard me on the radio or heard of this site. The vast vast majority.
For example the family who i met for this ITV piece had heard of moneysupermarket but didnt know a thing about me. So whilst you may've seen many, most haven't seen any (and )
So there is a balance to be had.

I don't think that people will be overwhelmed and switch off. If I hear a mention of saving money I'd be glued to the set to find out what it's all about. This time of year just about everyone is counting the pennies etc so all these programmes etc/ad campaign etc is, I think, a tremendous help. Spreads the word about Money Saving Expert.com, The Money Diet etc etc etc and I know that everyone I've ever mentioned the site to are eager to check it out and make savings etc. What I've noticed also is, more and more people do know who Martin is and some people I've mentioned the site to were already signed up for the email. I've heard of so many people who are struggling with debt etc and most of it is down to credit cards and cheap loans etc. What really gets me though, really really really gets me is when there is someone who continually is in debt, I've mentioned the site to but are still spending recklessly. Granted, I know that major debt problems can begin with divorce or loss of job etc etc, not just credit card spending etc. I find with some people it's just the sitting down and sorting through the paper work that people can't be faffed with, they'd rather just saunter along paying what they pay, that's their comfort zone and as much I'd like to help them, you can take a horse to water etc... I could give them a good shaking though, makes me mad. Think some people who do have debt either are just in denial or bury their heads in the sand, when they do wake up and smell the coffee Money Saving Expert.com is a brilliant FREE resource, such a wealth of information, all they need to do is sit down and take time to work things out. Loads of help from everyone on here too.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0

Yes, it is important that the message is going out, but I think that like diets, quitting smoking etc people won't do anything about it until it really affects them.
I agree with you smiley_mum, this website is great - Martin should be knighted for the financial help he must have given people!!Leilasmum0 -

Well I was sitting in the dentist waiting room flicking through some magazines, I picked up one I think called Moneywise, My 3 3/4 year old daughter was next to me, as I turned the page I came across Martins page, she shouted out at the top of her voice "MARTIN !!!!!, DADDY IT'S MARTIN."
Plus when we signed for MMR a friend said, Oh yes I have hear of Martin, he knows his stuff.
More folk are hearing about you, each and every day.

At the end, Keir in his pin-striped reporters’ suit, admirably, immediately went to pack her bags and did a swift job of it.0

Is that what the technical people at ITN call the lunchtime package?0
