Is that what the technical people at ITN call the lunchtime package?
Or a dinner time treat? :D:D:D

  • Yes he did a lovely job, but not one of them packed my bags!!!! Martin just got upset because his bag of "nic-nacs" were no longer crisps after my 9 month-old had finished crushing them into crumbs! Thanks for a lovely day guys!

The thing to remember is you've seen many of them. Still the vast majority of the UK has never heard of me, never seen me on the TV (that they remember), heard me on the radio or heard of this site. The vast vast majority.

For example the family who i met for this ITV piece had heard of moneysupermarket but didnt know a thing about me. So whilst you may've seen many, most haven't seen any :) (and :( )

So there is a balance to be had.

Ok I have to admit, I didn't know who you were or who Kier Simmons was, soon found out you were rather more important than I thought when I got accosted by a sainsbury checkout girl as soon as you left my side to tell me she loves you and looks at your website every day!!!! But thank you for being a genuinely nice guy who made me feel very comfortable and I still managed to have a laugh on the day...although have also cringed every day watching the clips, roll on Friday and the LIVE??? final. With kids, what is the producer doing to me?????

Welcome to MSE, Maltravers and Famous for the Week. FFTW, How could Martin get upset over your 9 month old crushing his "Nick Nacks"???, she's really cute. :D

Nick Nacks... I thought they stopped making them. Haven't seen them around for ages. Strong flavouring though.

That would have been me!! Not a checkout girl though(did it for 6 years and hated it)I'm a shopper for STY. I hadn't a clue who Keir Simmons was either until I saw your bit on the News this week!! It's hard not to get a bit excited when the man who's helped you save a fortune comes to your store and on the only week day I work too! Welcome to MSE, glad you found it.

We can still get Nik Naks in my local Co-op, I get the spicy ones for my DS's lunch box sometimes. Not sure they'll be around for much longer though, haven't Golden Wonder ceased now?

I thought you came over okay, much better than I did in MMR4, I think the worst bit for me was the part we had to stand still in the drive as the camera panned over the whole family, it just seemed to go on for ever, and we felt like right pratts, but it looked pretty good on tv.... welcome to the site and will more than likely see you around the forum pages.

Well I was sitting in the dentist waiting room flicking through some magazines, I picked up one I think called Moneywise, My 3 3/4 year old daughter was next to me, as I turned the page I came across Martins page, she shouted out at the top of her voice "MARTIN !!!!!, DADDY IT'S MARTIN."

Plus when we signed for MMR a friend said, Oh yes I have heard of Martin, he knows his stuff.

More folk are hearing about you, each and every day.

Plus I found out she has told her friends at nursery about Martin. So it looks as if you are getting known by the younger generation as well.
You made a big impression on her Martin.

Thanks for all your help in the past Martin.

Didnt see the show, but from my experience, if anyone from ITN could stay still fro long enough to pack some shopping, I'd be impressed! Why do they have to walk around to read the news & why do they assume that I am as thick as pig....? ITN, GMTV and even BBC news is going the same way. I hate bandwagons but this dumbing down of news is terrible. I'm going to have to video "Newsround" soon to get a decent report!
