OP I do not understand why you call this a rip off. A rip off is when you are promised some goods or a service, and they fail to deliver. This is an advert and clearly shows the price, with reduction. It is up to the consumer as to wether or not the conclude a sale.0

I'm not a big fan of Argos myself. I find that simply not shopping there (though a friend did find a good bargain for something I wanted there a few months ago) and getting on with my life deals with that quite well. I'd say that all this is due to Argos having a computer system that's not right for the job , so it's reporting VAT cuts as price cuts.
Get someone in the I.T. department at Argos to post on the techie's forum & they'd probably fix it before the day's out.0 -
Their computor system did crash big style twice in one week last year!Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0
