Christmas Luxury's... & On The Dole!!

Listening to Radio Ulster this morning and heard a story of a woman who had her Christmas presents stolen from her house… had a £300 camcorder, Digital Camera & Childrens presents stolen.. Thought……. God that’s a terrible thing to happen and I Really feel sorry for the girl… then she says…..
I’m a single parent on Benefits and I got a loan to buy the stuff…….. Ahhhhhhhhhhh hello!!! Single parent, on benefits and your getting a loan to buy your boyfriend a camcorder and then your also buying digital cameras etc…. God knows what she’d bought the kid(s)…
I’m sorry but what the hell is a single mother on benefits doing getting a loan to buy luxury’s like this… Has she no bloody sense or maybe she hasn’t heard of the credit crunch..
I think Jobs & Benefits office need to possibly look into financial training classes for those on Benefits…
As a tax payer I don’t mind my taxes being used to help people genuinely in need, but not to pay of luxury Christmas present for someone on the dole
Still a crap thing to happen though!!

Wouldn't these items be covered by insurance?0

i would never take out a loan to buy presents. we save hard all year and set a sensible budge for eachother of £30. its the though that counts not hundreds of pounds worth of presents....someone needs to teach these people the value of money. classes are agood idea colin. u volunteering?love you lots like jelly tots0

what!!!! Do it for Free??
I would but something tells me it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference..
Some people just don't have any sense or as you rightly say no sense of value of money...
Irresponsible people should have their benifits deducted of given to them in food, energy & rent Vouchers (Now there's an Idea) then they can't go spending money on materialistic items that they really can't afford and really don't need.Live, Love & Laugh A Lot!0 -
If you listen to the full interview you will hear that the items stolen include Digital Camera, Camcorder, Ipod Touch, Handbag, Purse, and Passport . The front door of the house was left open!
And while she may be on the dole she has just returned from a holiday in the Caribbean :eek:0 -
holiday in the caribbean lucky for some, glad to see my tax money is going to good use, the moral of the story is lock ur bloody house door, my door of my house is always locked even when im in the house0

I think she may be lying about what was taken so people feel sorry for her and donate those items..
When I was on income support in those 3 months I had endless loans and street door collectors throwing money at me, and the social fund was also offered me from £50 to £800 I was allowed and I had to pay it back out of my benefit each week, glad to say I refused all the offers..♥♥♥Life is too short to wake up with regrets ♥ So love the people who treat you right. ♥ Forget about the one’s who don’t ♥ Believe everything happens for a reason ♥ If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands ♥ If it changes your life, let it ♥ Nobody said life would be easy, they just promise it would be worth it ♥0 -

Both my wife & myself work and we couldn't afford a holidy to the Caribbean... Bloody disgraceful.. in circumstances like these I think the Benifits offices should be doing more to cut or stop the benifits of these people... Obviuosly not as hard up as they make themselves out to be..
And she left her door open... hmmmmmmmmmm sounds suspicious. The cynical side of me wanders the odds that she knows who pinched it and possibly had something to do with it herself.... nice insurance claim on the cards (Bet thats one insurance she does have)Live, Love & Laugh A Lot!0
