Unable to connect to the Internet via Dial Up - After cancelling E7 broadband

My mother has cancelled her e7 broadband as it's not worked for 3 weeks (they've messe up a system upgrade). Since they confirmed the cancellation she can't even access the internet via a dial up with any internet provider.
Does anyone know if E7 could have blocked the line somehow to stop any data being transferred (meaning you can't connect to any internet).
Any ideas would be appreciated as I've tried my laptop and it also can't connect to dial up at her home, but BT have checked the line and it's OK.
This happened at the same time as cancelling E7, so to much of a coincidence.
Thanks!

E7 can't have done anything to your line.
In fact you can run simultaneously a ADSL and a dial-up connection if you wish so.
I suggest you:
a) remove the ADSL filters (not necessary, but do it just in case you are messing up connections).
b) set-up a dial-up connection in Windows leaving pretty standard parameters (i.e. leave remote assign DNS settings and IP address)
c) physically connect your dial-up modem to the phone line, main socket if possible to check first time.
d) dial a number from an ISP which you know for sure is working. Many offer nowadays access with no username/password for ease0
