webroot spysweeper is by far and away the best.
Not free unless you know how but it beats all of the competition.0 -

yes but it is the best anti spyware programme by far - it is well worth the small amount of money. Ad aware pro wont even pic up basic keyloggers - it is virtually worthless as an anti spyware programme.0

You always have to be careful about double counting, and cookie counting.
There is an article about it here:

The freebies have always worked for me.., but maybe I'm infected and don't know it.. but I doubt it.
I'd love to know where everyone picks all this nasty stuff up from, if you have upto date av software, are careful what you click on, patch, lock down ie, and use a software firewall wisely, you should never get infected..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

because people cant resist clicking those little windows that pop up plus visiting dubious sites with embedded rubbish. Some basic software will also install tripe by default especially p2p clients. the new roxio 8 even comes embedded with spyware believe it or not.
ad aware has become pretty useless these days - the def files only update about once a week - they should update every day.0 -
and it found a whopping 202 parasites!!!i just use microsoft Anti spyware, spybot s&d and ad-aware
Any more freebies or do I have to buy Spyware Doctor?
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -

spyware blaster

those together with pop up stopper (free edition) which is very easy to use and turn on and off as needed

not forgetting the free version of zone alarm

I use Avast for virus protection, it is by far the best & its free!
Having downloaded something dodgy last week Avast detected it contained a virus before I opened it & deleted it for me!
Whit Woo Avast!! - http://www.avast.com/
http://www.hitmanpro.de - If you download this software & run it, it downloads the top 10 anti spyware packages like (Adaware, Spybot etc), updates them & runs them one after the other & gives you a report at the end of what it has fixed! It also fills in the relevant boxes. Run it, you'll see what I mean.
I have microsoft anti spyware & couldn't work out why my task manager had been disabled, I couldn't even fix it manually! This fixed it for me!

Not entirely true... its free but not the best except in your eyes..
But I do share the sentiment indeed as it is very good it has the same rating as AVG which is also a good bit of kit... but you dont have to register AVG on a yearly basis...
Good to see you have a freebie AV installed :T :T0
