And I've just been given a quote from BG - £4188.74, includes £400 discount - for:

Worcester greenstar 28i high efficiency combi boiler
1 yr complimentary homecare
condensate waste to internal connection (22mm)
100mm condensefit Mk2 standard horizontal flue (upto 570mm)
wireless thermostat
magnaclean professional - magnetic filter
scaffolding (£600 :eek: )
system water treatment & powerflush
install scale reducer
10 year guaranteed replacement parts available
12 month manufacturers warranty (can't remember what else he said)

So, having absolutely no idea what replacing a boiler costs, and having yet to get quotes from anywhere else, d'you reckon this is expensive? Or will I get quoted a similar amount, give or take £500, from independant installers?

BG HP for this was £76 ish per month for 10 years - 18% interest :eek:

Get another couple of quotes, minimum, from independent, local corgi reg installers.
Read all the comments on this thread and others to see how widely charges vary for what is, basically, the same job.
The interest rate of 18% is far too high - shop around for a cheaper loan as well if you need to borrow the money to finance the installation.
Ask around your neighbours, colleagues etc for personal recommendations.
What's the scaffolding for, by the way?

It would appear in general that BG charge about £2k more than everyone else...
