do you have other speakers you could try plugging in? Or a set of headphones?
If not, let me know how you get on finding device manager with the help function, and how you get on trying out other sound sources.0 -

look down the device manager list of devices, to find the audio/speakers - you shoud see no yellow warning triangles. If you have any, you may need to reinstall the speakers - have they ever worked by the way?
