The front speaker output is ~usually~ the green one.
Open the main volume control panel and check that the relevant outputs are not muted.
If not that, look in Device Manager to see if the sound device is correctly installed.0 -

For device manager click start, right click my computer, and device manager should be on eof the tabs.0

thanks tried that device manager is not there? sorry to be a pain and thank you for your patience0

ALso, make sure the sound source you're expecting to hear is actually working. Try 2 different sources, i.e. a cd and also an online source, such as here.0

If you're using windows xp, click start, right click my computer, and device manager should be one of the tabs.
If you're using any other version of windows, press f1 from the desktop and enter device manager into the help box - follow the links from there.0 -
nope still no sound have audio config which keeps popping up but have no idea how to use it oh woe is me0

Looking at your original post, try the wiring again. There should be a green lead coming form the monitor's speakers. Plug it in to the pc - either on the back, if there's a green input hole, or on the front - it will either be green or have a tiny tiny headphones image by it.0
