Anyone want to do my shopping list for me? I've got as far as bread and milk :rotfl: I don't think we're cooking on Christmas day but we might be on Boxing day. Or maybe I'll just send Mr G out for the basics and then panic tomorrow if I need more?

Noooo I've just realised we've missed the UK post as well! I think e-cards with a donation to a charity may be in order  Just hope I can get some letter post out today to island people!

  • OK, I'm down of my "PINK" high horse. (I'm actually wearing blue).

Good morning all. As I didn't need to get up for work, chasing DD out for her lift (she's been at friends since Friday), I reset my alarm for 7.30, and lay in bed reading till 8. And since then I've been busy with my list! Lookee!

    Monday Mayhem..
    1. Make sure you have all the shopping you need to take you through to next week.. milk and bread especially! - Only need fresh veg, cream & cheeses - Tuesday or Wednesday
    2. Make sure the last of the presents are wrapped I will not have people sitting up while 5am on Christmas morning wrapping! - Oops. No wrapping done yet!
    3. Have we located stockings? - Yes, they're in the spare room, with the Christmas tree, which can't be put up until the lounge is finished.
    4. [STRIKE]S&S the kitchen[/STRIKE] - done
    5. [STRIKE]S&S the bathroom/s and loo's[/STRIKE] - done
    6. [STRIKE]Clean the oven and hob ready for your feast![/STRIKE] - done
    7. Clean the fridge to accommodate you bounty of food - don't think I'll bother as my replacement fridge is arriving on Tuesday
    8. [STRIKE]Change any bedding you need to get washed before the fat guy arrives.. and I do not mean the OH/parent/ etc[/STRIKE] - in the washing machine
    9. Make sure your timetable for christmas day is sorted and everyone knows their tasks.. who is spud peeling? Who is stuffing the bird etc..? - That would be me, me and me! Although DS does usually help with things like pigs-in-blankets
    10. Catch up on the laundry .. ironing is tomorrows job! - no worries
    11. Phone someone you 'forgot' to post a card to in time.. just so they know you've not forgotten them...- just found a card that fell off the table, so need to phone Lorraine!
    12. [STRIKE]Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself.. reading.. relaxing.. goggling... remember you are important too[/STRIKE].- already done, but will also have a read in the bath later, and another read in bed before lights out!
    13. Change pet bedding and wash blankies etc.. we don't want them putting you off your christmas sprouts! - on my list
    14. Dust round the whole downstairs - planned
    15. do a crazy HHC decluttering downstairs - planned
It's going OK. DS is going to sand the chimney breast wall shortly, then we can finish the painting by bedtime! :T Then tomorrow we can put up the tree, wrap prezzies, fill the new fridge, iron and all the other little jobs.

I can't remember who said about putting cards up, but I have a card tree. It's metal, two pieces that slot together on a stand (so you have a four sided tree IYSWIM) I think it came from Kleeneze a few years ago and it holds all my cards.

Right, am pretty much ready. Rucksack packed with bottle of water, purse purged of reciepts which have been shredded/saved depending on what they are for. still waiting for the bloomin wm but think it's almost there now. have also written shopping list on paper so i know what to get later...

feel a little weird as i've been thinking a lot about my life before last Jan, reminiscing a bit i guess. today i'm going to meet up with a friend who has brought his disabled daughter to work for the day - going to spend a bit of time with her which will be nice. anyway, WM has finally done i think so better go...

    any cold meat
    any raw meats

I've given the bathroom/toilet a good clean so I can just S&S it the rest of the week. I've also done the kitchen properly. And I vacuumed round downstairs as much as I could, I'll give it a proper go when all the stuff is moved.

My fridge is tidy and clear ready.

Max is beautiful Summermoon, he's got a lovely face.

    Welcome to newbies :)

Hope you can get food sorted out Pigpen

Waiting for Asda delivery now, hopefully most of it will be there. I've ordered a cheap kettle with it, mine has been playing up a bit recently sometimes you have to unplug it and plug it in again so I'd like a backup please!

I'm really cold now, this morning I was so hot I had to turn the heating off.
