Thanks for the advice re-pastry. I've put it in the freezer and will surprise OH with a homemade apple pie in the new year.

The mince pies made with researcher's recipe for pastry are wonderful. Have made 24 of them and so far have only eaten one ....aren't I good

Hugs to Lady Liberty and to all others going through that most difficult of first christmases - hope that you raise a glass to your loved ones - remember the special times and that they are with you in spirit. Smile at the happy memories, laugh at the funny remembrances and think of them with love.

Hugs to Sarah's DD2 hope you're better soon hun!

No doubt we'll be 'thinning out'on the thread today - so Happy Christmas now to DeniseNZ and Llamahead.

    Johanne
    hugs to you too.

And to all my Flylady friends Merry Christmas. Happy Birthday Tag's DD and just in case

To our glorious, illustrious, industrious leader, a shining example to us all despite her own troubles a very Happy Christmas and a Happy Birthday for Boxing Day!

    Fly wise
    Friday errand done (hurrah)
    I plan to
    put aired washing away
    clean bathroom
    clean kitchen
    clean hall stairs and landing

I have already re hung yesterdays washing as it is a lovely sunny day so I thought it could dry a bit more before I iron it.
Cleaning bathroom means I will have towels in the washer tonight but I will probably tumble them tomorrow as it will (don't laugh) give me something to do as we won't leave here until 2pm I expect.
Last year I dyed my hair xmas morning!

Still not right though - had a cup of tea and a cup of coffee! And that's it.

I've weighed my turkey now - 11 1/2 pounds (boned and rolled). It's a big lump of meat! I'll get it started early tomorrow so I will have the oven free for potatoes etc.
  • Morning!

Thanks to everyone who sent birthday wishes to DD2. She had a great time. She wasn't quite sure what was happening but she definately liked it. I think we tired her out though...she went to bed at 8pm (very late for her) and didn't wake up 'til 10am!!! So I had a nice lie in too.

Thank you to everyone who sent cards too. Got my package from Lil'me this morning so sat in bed with a coffee while DD2 was still in bed and opened them. How civilized! A big thank you to lil'me and your helpers for sorting them all out and posting them.

This is what I need to do today.
    • Write and deliver last few cards
    • go to Mum's for lunch & leave DD2 there for a sleep
    • Get photos printed off for my Grandad. Got a lovely one of DD1 & DD2 together to put in a frame for him.
    • Come home with DD1 and tidy her room and sort washing (and maybe iron a bit too)
    • Go to church service
    • Pick up DD2
    • Tea, bath and bed kids
Suppose I'd best get a move on.
