I posted this in the main thread (cant remmeber if it was part three ot four though)

now I have banked my big fat cheque from A&L I wanted to pursue them for my previous lons, but wanted to know if it was worth it.

However, only info I have is Loan was in 07/03 settled in 01/05 (with new loan)

Original loan was over 36 months, repayments were circa £240 (says 240 on credit file, but £238.xx rings a bell) - is it possible to work out (or guesstimate) the PPI I paid on the loan - just wondering if it is worth persuing. (and I am assuming I would get interest on the amount or would this only happen if it wentto court? - I know some pay up anyway)

Any amount is better in your pocket than theirs if it was missold.

If you need the information or the credit agreement before reclaiming it then perhaps ask them for a copy of the agreement and make sure you enclose £1 for the pleasure. They have to send this in 12 days and also make sure you sent it recorded delivery too.

Or you can ask them for a subject access request costing £10. This is all the info they have on you including telephone calls etc. They have 40 days to supply this. There is a template letter on page 1 of the PPI reclaiming discussion part 4 if you want this method.

Or you can just write and state that you were missold like the other loan.

If it is missold to you then you get put back into the position as if you never had the PPI and also ask for 8% interest as a court would award as you were deprived of the monies.

    Good luck

I'm affected by this, I didn't get a letter about it. Found out about it through Martin's vids. I rang and asked for a refund/complained. The caller took my details and told me a full investigation would take place.

So far I've had about 4/5 letter's saying sorry it's taking so long but their still investigating it.....and I'm still waiting.

    Hi there
Have you heard anything at all on this yet?

  • I have just received an offer from A+L with regards refunding my PPI after complaing of being miss-sold,
They have offered me a sum which I have found acceptable, but on further reading it states i have 28 days to return the signed form from the date of the letter to receive my refund....

Herein lies the problem, i received the letter today 7th Feb 09, date of letter is the 6th of January 09.

Has anyone else encountered this situation? I am a little less than impressed

    Hi there
First of all, well done on receiving an offer. :T .

Now, I would contact them straight away, first thing Monday and tell them you are happy with the offer but its only now you have received this which did not give you any thinking time (even though your happy about this).

I see your point here and I have not actually come across a comment like this myself, but if you happy with the offer, tell them you have signed or due to sign the documentation and would require more time, as this is not fault of yours why you have only now received this, if you get any problem here post back and someone will be able to help.;)

Good luck, please let us know the outcome anyway, that will be good, cheers.

:hello: yoo hoo - over here....

I had excactly the same problem - letter dated January 5 and was recieved 28 i think. i had actually called to see where it was (cos had been told previously had been sent) and they arranged to send a copy document out - which arrived on the same day!

They are fairly quick in sending the cheque once the agreement is back though.

EDIT. PS stop hijacking my thread :p
