That's always been the problem all the increases we've built up over the years are in supplements that the company can take away when they like and they are, so which ever way you put it we're still losing money..0 -
Is this not true then Pickles?

It is 2 days for 12hr staff and 3 days for 8hr staff, this is the only money that will come off the salary, however we more than made up for this with a 3.5% pay rise in January.
I for one am glad that they are closing on Boxing Day and as such do not lose any money.0 -

Jetski they are supplements that is all, it is our unions that have lets us down in the past allowing supplements instead of insisting like we all wanted for them to be put on our salary.0 -
There's some discrepancy between your response and the article which begins with this...
"PORTWORKERS are today being asked to accept a massive pay cut to keep Britain's biggest container terminal running - and keep their jobs."0 -

That Local rag always has published totally one sided stories against the Port, as you know it sells papers.0 -
This is a quote from your dear leader...
Chief operating officer David Gledhill said: “The volume of cargo we expect to lose this year is equivalent to losing a fairly significant customer and that is something we cannot just take on the chin.
“What we are absolutely determined not to do is to have wholesale redundancies.
“What we are asking the troops today is to take some changes to their terms and conditions so we can avoid redundancies.”
“The message we are trying to convey is there is some short-term pain and we have not taken these decisions lightly.”0 -
