As this thread has reappeared, much to most of MSE's annoyance I suspect - one question.

    Where is the press release?

It was on BBC radio Suffolk news today, but still have not seen anything in writing.

Hehe, it was me getting excited....well got to work out a way of how to afford the dinner I am supposed to be going out to on Saturday (yes I am actually going out, yippee!).

Hope you had a good time.

The dinner is this weekend...babysitter arranged (parents), meal paid for, lift sorted.

No money for drinks or anything else though!

Edit - Going to celebrate though, even if I have to smuggle in some drink...pity I don't have a real young 'un with me, I used to put alcohol in a babies beaker to sneak into pubs and clubs.

The reason for my celebration? I took my exam in my 4th module of the course today and got 97%! I was so unconfident about my ability that I put off taking it on Monday and only decided on a spur of the moment whilst there today...although I still didn't feel ready or at all confident.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
  • that's a fantastic mark, nice one!

  • Has that press release been put out yet?
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

  • I've heard there are to be some redundancies on the roll-on, after a third sailing has been pulled (Maersk, I guess). Also, some more hourly paid jobs to go. dock wide. Any of our resident dockers confirm the whispers?
  • There are on going discussions between union and management.

Very worrying times at the Port for everyone, job losses of 60 or more on the Norfolk line ro/ro service due to as you say reduced volumes but one less sailing but with bigger vessels, but Norfolk line wanting to use their own crew for lashing bringing about the job losses. As Pickles has said Union & management are negotiating as to swallow up the losses but with the container division already carrying surplus labour due to reduced volumes it does not look good.
