PN knows what is going on, new logons not needed I will not hide.
I still believe in the PORT and always will yet these next few months are going to be very hard because i will be losing some valued friends which i have built up over the last 26 years.
Maybe I have been positive but if not how do you think that rubs off onto the hourly paid when they see managers preaching doom and gloom.
No my way is to motivate them and ask them to give the customers the excellant service that they have always delivered so that they do not feel the need to go elsewhere.
Some sentiments in there I can agree with (at last!). I wish that no one would lose their job, and hope that somehow things pull through OK. And you are right about keeping going. Work hard, work well, and keep the customers on your side. There will be a recovery eventually.

So you are saying in effect that you have been lying about everything being fine at the docks? How do you think the staff will feel about that?

That aside, I doubt very much you knew anything up until earlier this week; you argued too long and hard with me about this and I believe you have been taken completely by surprise. You are not senior enough to have had any prior knowledge and I doubt you are senior enough to know anything now. However, it is typical of you to try and grab back a bit of "power" by pretending you knew all along and have inside information - inappropriately at this of all times.

This is not about whatever power trip you happen to be on Pickles, this is about real people who might have appreciated a bit of warning and are suffering now. Imagine how you'd feel.
  • Where is JETSKI when I need him?
  • 3/4 of the people that are affected have known a restructure was on the cards for a very long time.
If you worked at the Port you would know why just like all the hourly paid and staff know.
Why do you think that the hourly paid are very reluctant to move to staff grades? You really have not got a clue what you are going on about have you.

But this isn't a normal "restructure" is it? This is redundancies.

Look, if you're so senior and so knowledgeable, let's hear it. Let's hear about the redundancies Pickles-who-is-in-the-know and has known about all this for ages, and without using management speak and words like "restructure".

The people on here that matter know that I am telling the truth and no amount of bickering from you will get that out of me.

Pm-ing everyone who has contributed to this thread just to get your side in first is hardly the same thing is it?

I'm afraid you are full, and I mean BRIM full, of crap - on this, on house-prices, on your tenant-abuse thread you ran away from, FULL of crap.

No, I don't work at the docks but I have a better idea of what is happening there than you do which means you are either not what you claim to be or you're a big fat liar, either way you are beneath contempt.

Oh, and you still owe me that apology.
