Old bank account but i can remember any details?

I have an old bank account with HSBC from when i was a teenager 13 - 18. When i turned 16 and moved in with my daughters dad he put me in alot of debt and i must of had £1000 of bank charges over a 2 and half year period.
I'd like to claim these back from HSBC but have no idea of the bank details as they closed the account and after an on-going dispute i got them to remove it from my credit file.
How can i get hold of the statements from this account and any info from it. Will HSBC still have the details?
Can i claim even though the account is closed and was opened 7years ago?
Thanks!

If you were under 18 at the point in which you got the charges the bank would have an unenforceable debt. Did you pay the charges or did they write the account off?laurenjs88 wrote: »I have an old bank account with HSBC from when i was a teenager 13 - 18. Laurenjs, that is fantastic if you will pardon the pun. Did they also put a default on your credit history?laurenjs88 wrote: »Yer it was all paid off plus the charges before i was 18 aprat from £68 poundswhen they shut my account and wouldnt let me pay it off.0 -

That was very very very very sneaky. Did they write to you when you were 17 to advise you of this?laurenjs88 wrote: »Yes they did 3 days after i turned 18!! took me until 3 months ago to get it removed.0 -

Did they look at the charges? Have you been refunded any charges?laurenjs88 wrote: »nope nothing at all i kicked up a huge stink and threatend legal action, contacted the financial omb and it finally got removed after nearly 2 years of dealing with them.0 -
No, not at the time i have no details now for the account.
I'd like to get hold if the account and statements so i can claim the charges back when the court case is done.
Be a nice little sum if i can claim it backHad my amazing little girlie 08/12/2007 - 11 days late! 9lbs 3oz

But you are not waiting for the OFT test case decision. The OFT decision has nothing to do with your case. The bank should not have charged you because you were a minor(under 18 years of age). They had to remove the default because of your age, the debt was unenforceable because of it. I think you need to get HSBC to give you your data NOW. I would say your case is an absolute minefield for the bank.laurenjs88 wrote: »No, not at the time i have no details now for the account.
