If you book with Virgin - you pay online price + 5% online discount added back on

With Cosmos again you pay online price without discount (but imo Cosmos are overpriced anyway)

Tbbrown - I think even if the price falls at the last minute then ithink they still want the full bochure price if you use your tesco vouchers.

Terms & Conditions vary with each 'Deal'.

These are set by the Deal supplier, not Tesco.

To be honest, with the demise of lots of extra points, Clubcard deals are getting hard to earn anyway.

We're going to Vancouver with BA in Club Class in August - that was only 12 months of Clubcard points saving last year, but I think we would be hard pressed to earn that many points this year!

I had exactly the same problem. They have a discounted cash price and a full price of about 70-80% more. This effectively renders the vouchers useless.

What a con. Tescos need to put a stop to this otherwise the vouchers are of a value which you cannot judge beforehand.

    Ridiculous statements IMHO!

'The vouchers are of a value which you cannot judge beforehand' - try looking in the brochures of the holiday companies that take clubcard vouchers, the prices are quite clearly stated in them and are correct at the time the brochures go to print.

'Tescos need to put a stop to this' - well I for one sincerely hope they don't! Despite taking a quite a time to save up the vouchers, we enjoyed Christmas 2007 in Luxor courtesy of Tesco. We now have enough to pay for half the cost of a two week longhaul holiday for two. Should we go to Sri Lanka, The Maldives, Bali, Thailand, India or the Caribbean? Decisions, decisions! :T

Nobody is forcing anyone to spend their vouchers on booking a holiday. Do your research and the great deals are there. If there's nothing you fancy then spend your deals on something else. I cannot believe the number of people that can complain about getting something for nothing!

    Rant over! :D

You can go on holidays abroad with Tesco clubcard points!!!!:j

I get the vouchers (they just send them) & they have a time limit, if I had to save enough for a Caribbean holiday they would expire:confused:

MrsE - I haven't yet needed to do it myself but I think you might be able to get vouchers re-dated if they are about to expire ;)

On the cruise deals, you have to book a minimum 7 night cruise and £500pp value.

Tesco points cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, so you really do need to do your maths.

    On a £500 cruise spend

NO cruise club discount, around 11% = £55
    NO free car parking = £ 80
    NO on board credit = £50 est'd

so potential loss of discounts worth £185 + face value of the vouchers you are using.

Not such a good deal after all.

thats the problem, they had expired. if you had sent them back before then, the points would have been recredited to your account

That is, I assume, because you let them expire. I have often sent deals back - all in time and they add them back to my account.
