Ocean Village and Tesco Clubcard deals

Options
Just called Ocean Village to book a two week cruise for Feb 09. I called the Ocean Village number shown with the club card vouchers, the price stated was £722 more than the online price. I have £1160 in vouchers, the saving would have been £422, less the £300 value if spent at Tesco. total saving £122! I have decided not to use the vouchers but wait until a little nearer the time and go for a last minute deal. The point of this post is to winge about the teams of the club card deals, you are not receiving the total value unlike when I used the vouchers at MFI. they just took £500 off the balance! I'm sure someone say that's why they have gone bust but what's the point other than that.

Yep, it is brochure prices with these deals, also for Cosmos and Cadogan Holidays. Still haven't found the holiday I want with my vouchers.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

We cruised with Ocean Village two around the Western Med in July and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the roomy cabins, therefore they were our first choice for our next cruise around the Caribean. The prices are falling by the week, the cheapest to-date is £917 pp for two weeks against £1368 pp Ocean Village quoted for using using Tesco Club card vourchers. I will wait until the price drops to £800 before jumping in.
  • I have just rung John Fowler holidays and I was quoted £1170 for large accommodation in Devon for half term (May). When I mentioned Tesco vouchers the new quote was £1949!!!!

I'm having the same trouble trying to book a holiday, you still end up paying the same sort of amount you would have paid anyway.

Makes you feel like just buying your grocery shopping with the vouchers even after 3 years saving!

You can go on holidays abroad with Tesco clubcard points!!!!:j

I get the vouchers (they just send them) & they have a time limit, if I had to save enough for a Caribbean holiday they would expire:confused:

I had exactly the same problem. They have a discounted cash price and a full price of about 70-80% more. This effectively renders the vouchers useless.

What a con. Tescos need to put a stop to this otherwise the vouchers are of a value which you cannot judge beforehand.

Booking with Siblu for a week, BH week end of May, was more or less the online price. I was actually surprised it came in lower than my calculation! So depends on what you want to book.
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
    I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T
