Please explain why they owe you anything.
Huh, it was cracked yes, but not broken the wiper thing got caught on the crack and ripped it out. I wouldn't expect them to repair it but something along the lines of when you rent a property a lot of landlords will do a inventory and say there is 3 out of 7 years left on a carpet so should it be ruined they pay some and you pay some.
I had no idea it would break it, the problem is I asked for a basic wash which would have been fine, but because the lad upgraded it for free thinking it was being nice it then used these things that ripped the bumber off.Nice to save.0 -

Now how to get the car there on three wheels!!! Mmmmmmmmm
Looking for compensation when you knowingly took a car with a defective bumper into the car wash is a little rich don't you think.
No i don't actually because your example is rather silly dont you think. I took a car to the car wash and it was a serviceable bumber that was completely ruined and I doo not see why they should pay at least some of it.Nice to save.0 -
I used to run a petrol station and we had a carwash. I can tell you now that they will have heard a thousand people before you claiming their car has been broken in the wash, yet most are just people making it up and so you do tend to get very 'don't care and now please !!!!!! off' about complaints. You do get some genuine ones, of course you do, no machine is 100% perfect, but the amount of people who try it on cloud those ones over.
They will have a disclaimer on the wall and sadly there is nothing you can therefore do. Can you imagine what would happen if the local idiots knew that they were paying out to repair cars? Sainsbury's would go bust in about a week with paying out constantly.
All I can recommend is you have a look for local scrapyards and try to source a good bumper from there. It should cost about £30 and generally fitting is straight forward if you can use a screwdriver.
Not what you wanted to hear I know, but it is the truth, sorry.0 -
