Wii remote, not picking up signal?

The WiiMote has a solid state sensor, in conjunctions with asimple camera chip. There is nothing pphysical to unjam, it works by sensing the earths magnetic field and the movement of the remote in it. The movement sensor is capable of surviving up to 10,000g, which is WAY more than a slap on the back can provide.
More likely is there is a dodgy contact somewhere inside or a loose connecting cable and the slap has knocked something back together. They will go again before long, you may want to look at if they can be taken back under warranty.0 -
Thats really odd!
So you had to do that with BOTH remotes?
Yup, they both went at exactly the same time.Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Just out of interest, do you have a Christmas tree with lights (flashing or not) nearby? I had quite a lot of problems with my WiiMotes last year until I realised that it was the Christmas tree lights interfering with the signal. I turned off the lights... problem solved!
Not sure that this reason explains why a slap in the hand fixed yours, Raphael, but may explain issues others are having at this time of year... (and also act as a warning to those who have a new Wii to play with on Christmas day!)0
