(Dont get too excited as interest isnt included as im not that clever!)
I have spent £18.62 of my £100 crazy clothes challenge money so have a balance of £81.38 left to use.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Lucielle and Kidcat you are putting me off the idea now! The one we were thinking of hiring had an extractor bag kind of like a hoover on it but yes you did have to pay for your own sanding belts.
Ive been to Costco today with my mum, Dad and Pip. Spent a hideous amount (£143:eek:) BUT I did get loads of stuff that will last us ages like rice and they had a good deal on Pampers nappies which we like to put him in at night, the big box of 99 nappies for £12 so got 2 boxes. Also had Johnsons wipes 12 packs for £6 so got those too. My one naughty, naughty, naughty thing was a box of 48 Cadburys creme eggs for £10 but we love them and eat loads and thats still half the price!:D
Everybody is very quiet lately, hope your all OK.

hello busy lady
A small thing to chuck into the melting pot
ever thought of just painting the floorboards? If you might want to be brave and sand them later then this is a good inbetween way to see if you lke the wooden floors without much work - no sandy yukky dust - I'm a very lazy decorator and often have had to make houses 'kid ready' quickly and cheaply. I also change my mind liek the drop of a hat so for me - a quick solution which works is always a good way forward!
I normally seal them first with a water based varnish - before I paint them incase I want to sand them later so the paint doesnt soak into the wood (you can tell I've done this several times - we've often been skint and moved into a house wiht ergh carpets but nice boards) so if you seal them quickly then paint them, normally a couple of coats will do it and I've often just used emulsion if you seal it then after you've painted it with 2-3 coats of varnish they look amazing and then when they are swept and mopped they keep really well. Using water based varnish is a quick way to do it as well as it drys quick and its really tough as well.
Just a thought. I love natural floor boards, but I do love them painted as well. Easy to keep and lovely with rugs etc.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Fay I did think of just painting them but I am going to have a little play in the smaller area of the hall and see what I think of that before doing the bigger area of the living room. Im looking forward to having the boards, do you find them draughty though?
Ive just ordered these

for the bottom of our garden. Dual purpose...stops burglars and grows quickly giving us lovely yummy berries!
Had letter from MBNA to say they wouldnt accept the full and final offer that I made but they might consider a figure. Have sent me a form to fill in and retun and then they will provide me with a figure.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Ive had to include my partners finances as well which is a bit rubbish as we normally treat them seperately but the upshot is now on paper we look even worse than we actually are!!:rotfl:Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

I can second the painted boards, in our last house the carpets were really manky but I couldnt afford to replace them, so one day while OH was at work i ripped up the carpets and painted the boards.
It looked really good and was so much easier to keep clean than carpet, I would definitely do it again.
